About me... Somewhere between who I was and who I will be

ONLY THING YOU NEED TO BECOME A HIKER...

→ IS A SET OF FUNCTIONAL LEGS.

I've been hooked on hiking ever since my first high mountain summit in the Bitterroots.

Afterwards, I realized that the experience of hiking through the forest, arriving at the top, and looking out over such awe-inspiring beauty...

Brought a heightened new sense of clarity to my brain-box which I appreciated.

In the time since, I've made it a personal mission to summit more mountains.

In recent history I've been fortunate enough to average over 1,000 miles per year, just stomping my feet down on a variety of trails.

As a hiker, I'm dedicated to exercising my leg muscles and keeping my body in great physical shape.

As a human that hikes, I'm also intensely curious about understanding and connecting with the natural world we all live in.

HIKING IS LOVE.
HIKING IS OCCUPATION.
HIKING IS LIFE.

ONLY THING YOU NEED TO BECOME A PHOTOGRAPHER...

→ IS A CAMERA.

Photography is a recent development taking up amusement in my travels.

The first time I purchased a camera was at age 31, during the winter of 2016.

Purchasing my first camera seemed to make some sense at the time.

Maybe, it might not be a bad idea to start a photographic record of my hikes.

Why wouldn't it be a good idea to take pictures of natural beauty, when presented with the opportunity?

Photography eventually went on to become such an essential consideration for me when I planned new hikes...

By early 2019 it occurred to me that I felt comfortable calling myself a "photographer".

PHOTOGRAPHY IS AMUSEMENT.
PHOTOGRAPHY IS CONTENTMENT.
PHOTOGRAPHY IS SOUL.

ONLY THING YOU NEED TO BECOME AN ARTIST...

→ IS COURAGE TO TAKE RISKS WITH YOUR IMAGINATION.

If you had told me ten years ago that someday in the future I'd decide to begin making art…

And not only would my art be presentable to other people...

But I'd also be able to sell my art to functional people for non-counterfeit U.S. currency…

Well to be honest, I probably would have had a real fun laugh at such a far-fetched and improbable idea.

Nevertheless here I am now making my art to share with you.

My inspiration to begin developing a process as a creative artist, also came about in early 2019.

After spending so many years hiking on U.S. public lands...

It was obvious from my perspective that the values of our collective public lands in the United States are utterly vast and immeasurable.

VALUES OF PUBLIC LANDS...

Awe-Inspiring → & Spectacular

Unknown → Incalculable Sums

Spiritual → Breathtaking Beauty

Habitats → for Wild-Life

Exploration → Knowledge & Understanding

Ecological → Life Sustaining

ART...

→ IMAGINATION.

To maintain the worth of these values, we must keep our public lands ecologically healthy, responsibly managed, and legally protected.

PUBLIC LANDS ARTIST

DEDICATION...
⇒ to everlasting ecological health,
⇒ to responsible management practices,
⇒ and to statutory legal protections,
for United States Public Lands.
